Holiday Shipping

During the holidays, shipping can be a bit confusing, and delays happen from time to time. Sadly, we cannot guarantee shipping times during this season, but here is a guide to ensure that we can do the best possible job at getting you your packages on time.  Please note our free shipping is UPS Ground in the vast majority of cases.

Here is a quick overview of shipping dates for arrival by Christmas day (see below for more detailed info...all dates given are cut off at midnight PST on that day):

*There are no delivery guarantees during the holidays, but these guidelines will help give you the best shot at a timely delivery.  Ordering earlier is always better.  Please be aware that we follow up on certain types of first time orders, and delays in responding may delay the shipment of your order.

For our regular shipping and free shipping, we ship via UPS Ground or USPS Priority at our discretion. December 14th will be the cutoff for free shipping to arrive by Chirstmas* (this is not a guarantee of delivery) depending on your location domestically.  For other shipping methods, please refer to the list above.

Please keep in mind that these are the last days where orders places should arrive by Christmas. However, we recommend ordering earlier, as, in our experience, there tend to be a number of issues causing package delays when shipping on the last possible day the shipping companies say one can ship for Christmas.

Orders shipping internationally via DHL, UPS, FedEx, and USPS may not have as accurate of shipping times, as customs clearances are often delayed during the holidays. If you are located outside of the US, please order well in advance of Christmas, as that will give us the best chance of having your package delivered in time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.  Please keep in mind that even though we may ship in time and do everything correctly, there may still be some unforeseen delays with the shipping that are beyond our control.  The earlier you order, the better chance we have of helping you get your package in time.  We hope you have a wonderful Holiday season.

Japanese Knife Imports will be closed for the holidays and New Year from December 24th, 2024 to January 5th, 2025, reopening for normal business on January 6th, 2025 (*this schedule is still tentative and may change).

During this time, our website will remain active, but all orders placed after December 22nd at midnight and during the time we are closed, will ship when we return to work on January 6th or as quickly as possible thereafter. Orders placed between 20th and 23rd before we close will be available for pickup on or before closing time on the 23rd at the store, during our normal store hours.  While we are closed, we will be periodically checking e-mails, so if you need anything, please feel free to contact us via e-mail, as opposed to voice mail.
