Morinoki 170mm Petty

This Gesshin Ittetsu 270mm Blue #2 Hon-Kasumi Hamokiri is a special order from the talented craftsmen responsible for our Ittetsu series. Expertly forged and precisely ground, the overall fit and finish and performance of this knife are second to none. The size and weighty nature of this blade give it a really nice presence and in-hand feel. The hamokiri knife is used for making very fine cuts along the fillet of a hamo, aka conger eel, in order to break the small bones that run throughout it.

These glasses are made near the lake Tokurako in Obanazawa, Yamagata, Japan. This glass studio is located in Japanese "snow country" in the North - in winter when you look outside, it's all silvery-white snow outside, and nothing else is visible.  The summers are bright and very hot. This beautifully rich scenery, and the surrounding nature, inspire the craftsman. Ito-san hopes to reflect this nature and the kind, thoughtful people of the area in his art pieces, while preserving the "snow silver" pattern technique, for which he is known, in his hand-blown glass.

These glasses were designed to fit an entire 12oz can of beer.  The blue glass has silver flecks and swirls of gold color throughout.  The base is a wide hexagon, transitioning up to a round shape with a slight flair at the top.

We wanted to design a tool with mini offset characteristics and a fish spatula feel. You'll find rounded corners with a good amount of surface area and a slightly larger handle than normal for a comfier grip. Perfect for fine pastry work like frosting a cake or smoothing batter in a tray, more heavy duty cooking like flipping a pancake or a piece of fish in a pan, or plating purees and small veg. *Hand-wash only. If you'd like to preserve the patina/grain of the wood, please treat with walnut oil or cutting board oil*
